In the summer of 2013, the European Historical Population Samples Network (EHPS-Net) and the Babeş-Bolyai University (Cluj-Napoca, Romania) will organize an International Summer School on Historical Demography.

The Summer School is open for post-doctoral researchers, PhD students and MA students (socio-economic sciences, humanities, geography, medical sciences). No pre-knowledge on historical demography is necessary but applicants should however have some skills in Access or Excel.

Applicants from all European countries are welcome, regardless whether they belong to ESF Member Organisation countries or the EU.

Applications for the Summer School must include a CV, a letter of recommendation and a letter stating the expectations and reasons for applying. Applicants should mention why they want to enroll in the Summer School and why they are interested in historical demography.

The Summer School is supported by the Babeş-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca and the European Science Foundation (ESF). Meals and accommodation will be provided for, the trainees will have to cover the travel costs only or find alternative funding for these.
